You can start preparing for AFCAT by collecting good sources first.
Here is one way you can do it
Start collecting books/sources required (very limited number and only required ones).
Prepare a timetable according to your schedule and commitments
Know what to study from which source correctly. (There are some sections that are to be omitted in few books)
Start preparing and follow the timetable without fail.
Give mock tests from time to time to assess yourself.
Know where you are lagging and focus on those sections.
Solve previous years papers enough number of times. A few questions (at least in numerical ability section) might repeat. If you solve a paper n number of times then you can solve repeated questions correctly in the AFCAT exam. ( do you see the advantage with practice here?)
Stay focused and motivated all the time. Take breaks from time to time. Enjoy every minute of preparation.
